Emmanuel O. Komolafe is a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) expert with years of experience in corporate governance, policy making, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, insurance and strategic planning.
Mr. Komolafe holds an O.N.D. in Accountancy from the Lagos State Polytechnic, a BSc (Econ) with Honors in Business Economics from the University of Buckingham and International Diploma in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering from the International Compliance Association (ICA)/University of Manchester in the UK. He also holds a LLM - Master of Laws with Merit specializing in banking law, securities regulation and international trade law from the University of Buckingham, UK.
A Fellow of the Life Management Institute (with Distinction), Fellow of the International Compliance Association (ICA) and Fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute in England, Mr. Komolafe is a professional member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), a certified corporate governance trainer and ISO 31000 risk practitioner. He has served as Director and Governance Committee Chair of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC), a Director of Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) and as the BIA representative and Governance Committee Chair on the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority. A former Vice President of the Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (BACO), he is also a former Director of both the Insurance Institute of The Bahamas (IIB) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Bahamas Chapter.
Mr. Komolafe served on The Bahamas Government’s FATCA Advisory Committee, VAT Advisory Committee, Working Group for the National AML Risk Assessment and NHI Advisory Committee. He previously held the position of Policy Officer (Central Bank of The Bahamas), Head of Risk & Compliance (Ansbacher (Bahamas) Limited) and Group Compliance Officer (AF Holdings Ltd). He previously served as Chairman of the Bahamas Insurance Association (BIA) and Chairman of the statutory Insurance Advisory Committee.
